Cathedral Mine

This is an old Gypsum mine from the 1950's.  Some time in the early 1960's the government stashed a bunch of Civil Defense rations in the bottom of this mine.

I visited this mine with Dezrat from the California Mine Explorers and "Wild Bill" and Joe from Wild Bill's Ghost Town Adventures.

This is a half buried ore bucket This is an ore cart elevator. Park the cart on this section of track and it can be lowered. A section of back filled stope.

Ore carts are pulled in here, secured and dumped out onto the conveyor belt.

More track in the mine At about 400 feet down and over 1/2 mile over from where we entered, we hit the survival items.
