I am an adventurer.  When I was young and lived on the east coast of the US, my Dad would drag us kids kicking and screaming to every Civil War battlefield.  We would stare for hours at large grass fields oblivious to the carnage that took place years before.

I spent some time in the USMC.  Four years of my life.  I would say it changed me.  How could it not.  I have a greater respect for the men and women that shaped our country.  I want to learn about them, what they did and the sacrifices they made.  I have seen many cemeteries as I have visited old ghost towns and battlefields.  Please, I beg of you.  When you visit these sites, look but don't touch.  Your kids will one day need to learn about this time period too.
