F4 Phantom Wreck

While stationed in Southern California, during my days in the United States Marine Corps.  I flew all over Camp Pendleton.  I first saw this F4 in 1997 from the air and until recently had forgotten about it.  One day at work I was talking about wreck chasing and I remembered the "Camp Pendleton F4."  After a few minutes of searching the internet I was able to find a satellite image of the F4.  I got home from work and immediately put the coordinates in my GPS.  During the next few days Jarrid (my partner in crime) and I set out for this site.  After obtaining permission from the gate guards we proceeded to the wreck.  I really have no information on why this plane is here but in my observations this is not a crash site. This may be a training site.  When I flew over this in 1997 it was mostly in tact and still up on it's landing gear.  It has gone down hill significantly since.  (Photos taken Jan 2003)
